Turbo Overflows

What's a Turbo Overflow? In addition to flowing water from your tank down to your sump, a Turbo Overflow provides a clean way to pump water back into your tank without a lot of unsightly plumbing for you or others to stare at while looking at the tank. The plumbing from your sump pump runs up the back and over into your overflow and down to a bulkhead in the bottom of the overflow. Then out of the bottom of the overflow we've added an eductor. What's an eductor? It turbocharges your flow and increases the GPH by 3-5X while giving you a broader flow pattern. You'll need a return pump with a some head for best results but if you have it you get a big increase in flow inside your tank.

What we really like to do is to put an eductor under two corner overflows and then point the two eductors at each other. The flow from each eductor crashes into each other and creates a very chaotic and random flow in your tank. Lots of random, chaotic flow is the holy grail for SPS inhabitants. If you are trying to prevent the laminar flow that is created with most powerheads or submersible propellor pumps this is a great way to do it.
